A Few Answers
Here are a few answers to some of the most common questions our representatives get. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write us and we will include both your questions and answers in this page.

How many yogurts can I eat per day? :

Canada's Food Guide states that a balanced diet should include from 2 to 4 servings of milk products a day to meet the recommended calcium intake. Abstaining from milk products makes it difficult to consume the recommended amounts of 1,000 mg per day for 19 to 50 year olds and 1,200 mg for people 51 years and over.

A serving of milk products = 250 ml of milk or 175 g of yogurt or 50 g of cheese.

So, the quantity of yogurt you eat in one day depends on the total amount of milk products you consume. Be sure to follow Canada's Food Guide guidelines.

Can yogourt be frozen? :

While its nutritional value remains unchanged, freezing will considerably alter the texture of yogourt, so we don't recommend it.

What's the difference between fresh cheese and yogourt? :

What makes fresh cheese different from other kinds of cheese is that it is not refined in the aging process. Just like yogourt, Liberté Fresh Cheese contains bacterial cultures, but of a different kind, which is why we call it a "cheese" and not a "yogourt."

That's why fresh cheeses are mild and creamy. They have a shorter freshness period than other types of cheese because they hold more humidity.

What are probiotic bacterias? :

According to a number of studies, pro-biotics - including bifidus - mostly benefit the intestines. Many studies have confirmed that they prevent or lessen diarrhea, promote the remission of inflammatory illnesses, lessen the symptoms of ulcerative colitis and reduce the risk of colon cancer, among other beneficial effects.
